Fully Risk Assessed Reopening

We will only be running a limited number of games per day to ensure time for cleaning between games

Your team will be the only team on the premises at Eskape during your whole experience

Staff will wear a face mask when greeting you and during your briefing / after game photo

We will have anti-bacterial hand gel dispensers at our entryways / exits for your convenience

Both rooms and our reception area will be well ventilated

Do I have to book?

Yes. If you are having trouble with online bookings or have a special request or question you can call or e-mail us. Eskape Whitby is strictly available by advance bookings only - it will not be possible to turn up and pay at the door. Bookings made via this website close 24 hours before play. If you wish to make a booking less than 24 hours before play, please call us.

Am I locked in?

Although we may say you are locked in, at Eskape Whitby, this is purely part of the scenario. There is always a clear exit route.

How long does an experience last?

The whole experience will last about 1 hr 15 minutes. You will have 60 minutes to solve the mystery and escape and we ask you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your chosen start time for our briefing session.

What happens if I am running late or I get lost?

Please call us as soon as you can. All of our experiences are live games so unfortunately if you arrive more than 15 minutes late we may need to reduce your time within the room or to cancel your booking without a refund. This depends on if there would be enough time to hold our briefing session and how much time you would have left within the experience.

Can I Cancel or Rebook?

When a room has been booked and paid for, you will be unable to cancel it. You will be able to reschedule for a future date so long as you provide us with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Please contact us directly should you need to make an amendment to your booking. If you need to cancel due to Covid-19 please contact us as soon as you can. We understand these are strange times.

Is there parking at Eskape Whitby?

There is parking at our location in Whitby. However, like all parking in Whitby, this can get busy during peak times. Please allow parking time. If you fancy a stroll, our location is just over 0.5 miles (approximately 15 minutes walk) from both the Abbey carpark and the main shops.

I struggle with mobility, can I still play?

Our rooms do not include physical puzzles, however we are based up one flight of stairs and due to the layout of the building, at present, there is no access to us from the lift. There is a walk and additional flight of stairs to access our toilet facilities if required.

Are there any age restrictions?

We suggest only children of 12 years and over take part as the majority of our puzzles are aimed at an older audience. Each participant aged below 16 must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Do I need to bring anything?

You need to bring your team, your team name and your individual wit and intuition. It is important that you bring your glasses if you need these to read. We recommend sensible and comfortable clothing and footwear.

Can I Take Photos?

In order to keep the game a mystery for future players, photography and videography is not allowed within the game rooms.
